Shops and fast-food restaurants show owners in solidarity with the poor who do not have the money to buy, display banners urging them to eat or to buy without paying, in light of the high prices caused by the decline in the exchange rate of the Syrian pound and dollar.
On the doors of the shops they call by signs on the “needy” who do not have any money to take their need of goods for free, as a kind of “social solidarity imposed by the conditions in times of crisis”. Abu Muhammad, owner of a commercial store in the new neighborhood of Aleppo, hung a sign saying:
“ My dear brother, if you do not have money, do not be ashamed and leave your family without food, come and take what you need for your children, from me.”
