The Ain al-Assad base, in which US forces were stationed in Anbar province, in western Iraq, on December 3, was attacked by 5 missiles without causing damage, according to a statement by the Security Media Cell in Iraq.

The American forces instructed dozens of warplanes and drones to carry out direct and 24-hour flying over the building of Ein Al-Assad Air Force Base in Al-Baghdadi district, west of Anbar.
A security source told Al-Sumaria website that the western regions “for the first time witnessed such flights from the heavy aviation of the American Air Force in the skies of the western regions that included a number of bases of the American forces,” hours after targeting the convoy of General Qassem Soleimani.
The source added that “the intensive aviation was accompanied by the conduct of reconnaissance by the American ground forces in the desert areas near their sites in anticipation of any emergency.”
American forces have been present for years in several Iraqi military and air bases in the provinces of Anbar, Salahuddin and Nineveh, and the capital, Baghdad, within the international coalition, according to the security agreement between Iraq and the United States of America.
